Our core philosophy focuses on a lot of playtime and exercise for every pup in carefully selected playgroups. We understand not everyone has the time to give their dogs the exercise they need. Benefits of daycare include exercise and socialization, plus we provide all of the exercise they need. Pups who participate in daycare at The Dog Stop® are more adjusted, less stressed, healthier and happier.
Dogs that join us for daycare enjoy spacious indoor/outdoor supervised group play areas featuring interactive elements such as: benches, bridges, balls, chew toys, wading pools and of course, our canine companions.
Specialized Play Groups
Not all dogs play alike; that’s why we’re prepared for many different playgroups that are separated primarily by age and play style. Age is more important than size when evaluating compatibility. Children that are in preschool are best suited to interact with each other, while college students typically interact with others their age. Appropriate behavior for each group varies widely. For this reason, we keep puppies under six months old together and create groups of elder dogs based on relative maturity and play style. Whether your pup is an 80-lb. herder or a 5 lb. wrestler, we will find the perfect playgroup complete with a canine companion to lead the games and activities. It’s our goal to ensure that all of our guests are stimulated both mentally and physically while in our care.
The Dog Stop Delights
The Dog Stop Delights are available daily to all daycare and overnight guests. Delights include extra activities, treats, supplements, leash walks and one-on-one time with our canine caregivers. These extra services allow owners to customize their dog’s experience to their own personal preferences.
What is required for my dog to play/stay at The Dog Stop®?
The safety and health of your pet is our first concern. Our The Dog Stop® Play/Stay contract includes a personality profile, so we have basic information about your dog’s temperament and match him with the right playmates. All boarding dogs that participate in daycare must demonstrate adequate social skills and the ability to play safely. On the first overnight stay at The Dog Stop®, we will evaluate your dog’s interactions with other guests. If we find your dog prefers people over dogs, he or she will instead receive personal playtime from our canine companions.
Vaccinations & Flea/Tick Requirements
Prior to boarding and/or daycare, you must provide proof of the following vaccinations from your vet:
- Bordetella – Up-to-date vaccinations
- Parvovirus & Distemper – Up-to-date vaccinations
- Rabies – Up-to-date vaccinations
We also require that your dog be on a regular flea and tick prevention program, such as Frontline or Advantage. (Flea Powders/Collars are not acceptable, with the exception of the Seresto Collar.) Dogs over 7 months must be spayed or neutered in order to participate in daycare, however they may still be boarded.
