From puppy class to therapy dog preparation and everything in between, The Dog Stop® offers a variety of Training services. Classes vary from group settings to one on one and take place in our facilities as well as your home. Please call 412-766-DOGS(3647) for more information and pricing.
This course is designed for dogs 11 months and older and will teach you how to better communicate with your dog so problem behaviors don’t eat away at the human/canine bond. We will focus on basic manners such as sit, down, watch me, name recognition, stay, and leave it. This class is specifically designed to be fast paced and relies heavily on owners working with their dogs at home in between classes. This class is taught using positive reinforcement training: we reward the good and ignore the bad! Dogs learn better and faster when training is fun and they have motivation to do the work as opposed to aversive techniques which involve fear and pain. 5 weeks beginning Tuesday November 10 at 7:30-8:30pm $100 for the 5 week session, per dog (first session you will not bring your dog)
Private in home training is ideal for individuals having issues with their dog at the home, or just want to learn at home in a one on one setting. There is a free phone consultation to identify your needs and issues that need addressed, as well as pricing. After the phone consultation there will be a one of two first time consultation options:
This is for extreme behavior problems such as: Human aggression, Dog aggression, extreme fear, separation anxiety and obsessive-compulsive behaviors.

“We wouldn’t trust our beloved Husky to anyone other than the Dog Stop! He attends daycare 4-5 days/week and is very sad on his “off” days. In addition to daycare, Geno has also been boarded and groomed. We have nothing but positive things to say!”
- Kirsten Miller Brennan
“It is an amazing place. They take wonderful care of Gus during day care. She loves playing with her friends and comes home whooped from a day of play. It is awesome. I couldn’t be happier!! Everyone is spectacular there. I tell everyone about it.”
- Gretchen Anderson Monahan
“Love it. Used to go to the Dog Stop off Banksville, but this location is wonderful. (and much closer) Everyone knows our Pnewman every time we bring him in. They are very helpful and work with the mannerisms of the dog as well! Jenn and Chad are great and so is everyone else. Can’t imagine bringing our pup anywhere else. Not to mention, their 5-Star Dog food selection is great. Jenn also helped recommend Pnewman some food that has improved his stomach issues 100%”
- Lucas Leighty
“I can not say enough great things about The Dog Stop. I know my little guy, George, is in safe hands and will have a great day every time I drop him off. The staff there is beyond experienced and they take great care in providing a safe and stimulating environment for the dogs. They even come up with super creative Enrichment Activities every day to keep the dogs thinking and playing. Every member of the staff has always gone above and beyond to make George and I feel like valued customers.”
- Jeff Waltrowski
“Absolutely love The Dog Stop. I was worried taking our dog to daycare because he’s so tiny, hence his name -Peanut, but he loves coming here. The staff are all amazing and take great care of all the dogs. I highly recommend the grooming services too.”
