Job Opportunities
Canine Handler
If you’re looking for an active job working with dogs, it’s time to consider applying for a Canine Handler position with The Dog Stop®. Candidates are trained in all areas of canine care, including behavior, feeding, and enrichment. There is also a heavy emphasis on cleaning during training and daily shift requirements. It’s every handler’s goal to provide pups with a clean, safe, and positive place to play and stay while their owners are away. No previous canine experience is required, just a positive attitude and an aptitude for learning.
Groomer
Dog grooming jobs at The Dog Stop® enjoy flexible scheduling and a minimum 50% commission on all grooming services. Responsibilities include everything from walk-in nail trims to full-body grooms. Candidates should possess 1-2 years of professional grooming experience (excludes bathing positions) and come equipped with their own clippers and blades. The Dog Stop® offers grooming seven days a week, so weekend availability is required. As with all positions – positivity and a love of dogs are musts!
Management Team
From General Managers to Dog Care Managers, the management positions at The Dog Stop® are the perfect blend of customer service, employee coaching, and puppy love. Potential candidates must demonstrate an ability to multitask, possess strong communication skills, have a desire to work in a fast-paced environment, and, of course, working with dogs. Candidates should possess a minimum of 2 years in a professional leadership or managerial role.
Dog Trainer
The Dog Stop® is looking for an experienced dog trainer to conduct weekly group classes addressing basic obedience and puppy training. All applicants should have group instruction experience in a professional capacity, such as at a shelter, kennel, or training facility. Prospective candidates should also be familiar with reward-based training and be willing to submit a sample course curriculum for evaluation.
Dog Walker/Sitter
Our in-home employees spend their time walking dogs, stopping by for wellness checks, and having puppy sleepovers. Schedules vary, but all candidates should have flexible weekend availability, as well as the hours of 10 am – 4 pm Monday through Friday. We do require a clean background check, driver’s license and reliable transportation, positive attitude, outgoing personality, dedication to providing an unparalleled experience for our clientele, and, of course, a love of dogs.
