If you are bringing your dog to a dog park or even just introducing them to an unfamiliar dog, it is important to understand their body language. Dogs can communicate in many ways with each other, and it is important for the humans in the situation to be able to interpret their messages. Dogs will often greet other dogs by sniffing their faces and genitals. This is a sign of friendship. If one or both of the dogs is making direct eye contact or pulling hard at their leash, that is not the time to let them meet each other.
