PRIVATE LESSON PROCESS:

Initial Consultation

Initial consultation ($175 for 1.5 hours): during this initial meeting at our facility, we will take a full behavioral history of your dog and determine your areas of difficulty and concern. Together we will establish your goals for training and discuss techniques. Short-term management strategies will be provided so you may begin seeing improvement immediately.

Teaching Skills

Teaching skills ($100 per hour): now that we have set goals, we will teach the skills necessary to reach them. It is important to have a learning environment that is safe and controlled, absent of excessive distractions and stressors. Your dog should practice and master their new skills at our facility and in your home before applying them to “real life”. You wouldn’t attempt a heavy-weight title match without learning the fundamentals of boxing and many rounds of sparring!

Situational Training

Situational training ($100 per hour at our facility, $225 per hour at your home or other settings): once we deem your dog’s skills strong enough in practice session, we are ready to execute the training plan in real-world settings and situations. In these sessions, we will choreograph the situations in which you are struggling with your dog and work through any sticking points, gradually increasing stressors and triggers. By now, you and your dog will communicate in a healthy, positive way, and the mutual trust and respect you have built will help overcome obstacles.
